The Greenfield Police Department takes Domestic Violence seriously and since the early 1990's had officers in place to handle nothing but Domestic Violence calls and related crimes.
In 1996 the Greenfield Police Department was awarded a Federal Grant in partnership with the VISITING NURSE AND HEALTH SERVICES of the FRANKLIN MEDICAL CENTER to combat Domestic violence. This unique program brings Law Enforcement directly into a working partnership with an existing community agency to bring a vast array of mental health and medical professionals to bear on the tremendous problem of domestic abuse.

Officers work on a case by case basis with members of Visiting Nurse & Health Service Clinicians bringing the appropriate resources to bear for victims of Domestic Abuse.
Training for Police Officers in all areas dealing with Domestic response and intervention is an important part of this grant program. Training sessions are conducted on an individual and group basis.
Visiting Nurse & Health Services and the Greenfield Police Department can provide the following services to victims of Domestic Violence.
